Chesapeake Bay

A friend of ours (Janetta) lives aboard her beautiful Island Packet 44' sailboat. In October 2007 she was anchored at Solomon's Island in the Chesapeake Bay. She invited us to spend a week with her and of course we graciously accepted. We packed up the car and drove through Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. It was Fall so the mountains were beautiful. Some of them really did look like 'purple mountain majesty'.

We arrived late at night, so we stayed at a hotel and got up not too early that morning. After breakfast we carried our luggage to the dock where we was to meet up with Janetta. A few minutes later, two dinghy's came around the bend. One had Janetta, the other had Charlie, a friend of hers, and Revay, her Golden Retriever. We said our hello's and was introduced to Charlie, who also lives aboard his sailboat. We put our belongings in both dinghy's and motored our way to the spot where her boat was anchored. And so our trip began.

Revay doesn't like sailing very much. She hides under this blanket every time.
